General Notes
Zero Zero is an average Italian restaurant, emphasis on the pizzas. The food is decent, but not particularly noteworthy. I came here with a very large party (35), and they provided a fixed prix menu at $42pp. Overall, the service was pretty slow and the food came at a very inconsistent rate (although I'm not surprised, given the large group).
Dishes Tasted
- ★★☆☆ Radiatore Pasta -- red wine braised short rib sugo, Italian parsley gremolata. It's cooked alright, but a bit bland.
- ★★☆☆ Castro Pizza -- hobbs pepperoni, zero zero sausage, tomato sauce, house mozzarella, basil. Decent, your typical meat pizza
- ★★☆☆ Geary Pizza -- Manila clams, tomato sauce, garlic, bacon, pecorino, parsley, calabrian chilis. Decent, but not particularly noteworthy.
- ★★☆☆ Guerrero Pizza -- California sweet corn, shishito peppers, N'Duja sausage, house mozzarella, fontina, basil. Not bad but it's definitely ... missing something. Maybe a bit more sausage is needed.
- ★★★☆ Caesar Salad -- torn garlic crouton, grana padano cheese, cracked pepper. Simple but delicious; the croutons in particular were lovely
- ★☆☆☆ Avocado Bruschetta -- villa manodori balsamic, coppa, sea salt. The bread is good, but needed a bit more toasting for avocado toast. The coppa was meh and didn't add much to the dish
- ★★★☆ Taleggio Stuffed Arancini -- black garlic aioli, arugula. Creamy, crispy, and the black garlic aioli is so flavorful.
- ★★★☆ Wild Arugula Salad -- K&J orchards hosui pears, toasted almonds pomegranate, ricotta salata, lambrusco vinaigrette -- delicious!
