General Notes

A spinoff of the popular Z & Y Bistro from across the street, specializing in Peking duck. This place also carries over a lot from Z & Y; there's definitely an emphasis on Sichuan food here as well. Overall a pretty solid restaurant, good food, a little pricey, and nice ambiance (it has more of a modern upscale Chinese restaurant vibe). We came here without a reservation and got lucky (they still had duck), but it might be a good idea to reserve the duck in advance.

Dishes Tasted

  • ★★★☆ Peking Duck (half) -- Pretty decent duck, not quite as much of an intense savory hit as the one I had at 京味轩, but still quite solid. Nice crispy skin.
  • ★★★★ Duck Soup -- Napa cabbage, duck blood, tofu, vermicelli. This was delicious, the flavor is perfect and the other ingredients are cooked well.
  • ★☆☆☆ 铁板手撕包菜 -- A little bit too sweet + sour for my taste, but otherwise fried okay.
  • ★★☆☆ Tengjiao Skewer Delight -- Not at all what I was expecting, this is basically just a bunch of vegetable skewers (plus a chicken foot), but overall it's pretty tasty. Note that this is a cold dish.
