General Notes
Wooly Pig is listed as a "cafe" on Google Maps, but it's definitely more than that. They do have a lot of different drinks. They also have an eclectic menu of food items that pull from various Asian cuisines. Banh mi, porridge, katsu curry, and various other sandwiches; they have a lot of items that you wouldn't normally expect to see on a single menu. Good vibes, reasonably priced, and okay food. Nothing super noteworthy; I think this place gets good reviews but it's honestly overhyped in my opinion.
Dishes Tasted
- ★★☆☆ Pandan Rice Crispie -- pretty good, it doesn't quite have that "xiang" flavor that typical rice crispie treats have, but it's still pretty yummy.
- ★☆☆☆ Vermicelli Bowl (grilled pork) -- grilled pork, imperial rolls, cold vermicelli noodles, romaine, carrots, cucumbers, fresh herbs, traditional fish sauce. The pork and flavor of the dish is pretty good, but the noodles are not great. They have way too "bouncy" of a texture, which doesn't go well with this dish. The imperial rolls are ok.

- ★☆☆☆ Sweet Potato Fries -- They're okay, not particularly noteworthy.
- ★★★☆ Wooly Pig -- Shanghai-style braised caramel pork belly, arugula, pickled red onions, served on a toasted brioche bun. The brioche bun is excellent. The pork belly itself is good, it seemed like there was a touch of something akin to pulled pork too (not mentioned on the menu, which was a mediocre addition). Could use a touch more pickled red onion. Overall, great flavors. The pork belly itself is excellent.
- ★★☆☆ Ginger Chicken Jook -- shredded chicken rice porridge, ginger chicken broth, white onions, fresh ginger, cilantro, white pepper, and sesame oil. Served with fried Chinese donut. Some of the best Chinese donut I've had; it's perfectly chewy while still airy + crisp. The porridge itself was a little more watery than I was hoping for. Overall, good flavor.
