General Notes

Restaurant specializing in uni. This place is great if you're an uni fiend like me; there are few places where you can get 100g of uni (which is a LOT more than you might think). Their flagship dish is the uni rice bowl with 5 kinds of uni (20g each). The quality of the uni was really good, but I was a bit disappointed that they only had two kinds (instead of the the 5 kinds I expected). The BAFUN uni is produced in colder waters of Hokkaido, and was rich, sweet, and slightly briny with a creamy, smooth texture. The MURASAKI uni is produced in warmer waters from middle / southern parts of Japan, with a more subtle flavor, mild sweetness, and delicate oceanic undertone and softer texture. I liked the BAFUN a bit more. Even in Japan, uni is still pretty expensive; we spent around $90pp for the uni. Probably wouldn't go back again since I've gotten my fix already but worth an experience if you're an uni fiend.
