General Notes
Filipino restaurant in the heart of Daly City. The food is decent, but somewhat uninspiring. I actually really wanted to try their lechon, but unfortunately they were out that day. Nice vibes and reasonable prices. Their menu is focused around various silogs, so it's actually a decent option if you're going by yourself -- the portions won't be as massive as some other places I've been to.
Dishes Tasted
- ★☆☆☆ Ube Macapuno PIe -- creamy purple yam with macapuno. The filling is delightful and has a wonderful flavor. The crust is meh -- it's somewhat limp and doesn't have that wonderful flaky, buttery quality. Given how soft the filling is, it also just doesn't make sense to have an upper layer of crust.
- ★★☆☆ Paresilog -- braised beef, sauteed in soy sauce, onion, star anise, ginger. Decent, but not particularly noteworthy. The flavor was solid, the beef was a bit tough / dry at times.
- ★★★☆ Lumpia Shanghai -- pork egg roll, served with house chili sauce. Beautifully fried, the pork inside is a nice touch. The house chili sauce has a lovely flavor, though it isn't really spicy at all, so calling it a "chili sauce" is a bit of a misnomer
