General Notes

Yummy Korean restaurant way out in the western edge of the Sunset. It gives pocha food vibes -- large portions of very yummy, comforting food that you'd love to have late at night or when drunk, and not very healthy. A friend recommended this place for their budae jigae; we ordered the spam stew and we really enjoyed it. Good food, open late (until 11pm, which is highly unusual for this part of SF), very reasonable prices (we came with a group of 8 and spent around $160). Note: they don't actually offer banchan.

Negatives

> The service was ... not very friendly. There was this one waitress who seemed like she was actively ignoring us. We'd press the "call" button at our table, and we'd have to press it repeatedly before she'd come. Maybe because we had a larger group and they would slap a mandatory 18% tip anyways, they just didn't care.

Dishes Tasted

  • ★★★☆ Kimchi Pancake -- home style kimchi pancake; well fried, solid dipping sauce.
  • ☆☆☆☆ Whole Chicken -- deep fried whole chicken. Don't get this; get their wings or katsu dishes instead. This was way overcooked and pretty dry. Served with pickled radish and a dipping salt.
  • ★★★☆ Spam Stew -- sausage, spam, rice cake, vegetable & ramen noodles in spicy broth. This dish is EXCELLENT. The broth has an excellent consistency. It's the perfect level of spicy and is super flavorful. It's hard to go wrong with the components in the dish. Pretty substantial portion, especially if you're a rice fiend like me.
  • ★★★☆ Rose Rice Cake -- sauteed rice cake & sausage in hot chili paste with creamy sauce. Delicious, the cream sauce goes well with it. I wish there were more gochujang, but overall a great dish.
  • ★★★☆ Spicy Pork -- pork & vegetable in hot chili sauce. very yummy, tender, and flavorful. Not actually very spicy, goes great with rice.
