General Notes

Apparently, they have officially changed their name from "Thelonious Monkfish" to "The Mad Monkfish", but I will continue to remember this place as just "Thelonious". Sometimes there will be people playing music off to the side, and combined with the decor, this place can feel almost like a jazz bar. This is pretty much the go-to place for group dinners for Asian food, given its expansive, inclusive menu. Unfortunately, every time I've been here the food has been pretty subpar. I would not recommend coming here.

  • ★★★☆ Fried Ice Cream -- A bit too much breading, but otherwise pretty good.
  • ★★☆☆ Chiraishi
  • ★★★☆ Tonkatsu -- The tonkatsu itself was actually pretty good; nice and crispy.
  • ★☆☆☆ Duck Yellow Curry -- The curry itself is not bad. Unfortunately, the vegetables are bland and improperly cooked, and the duck is just horrendous.
  • ☆☆☆☆ Ramen -- A really strong shittake mushroom flavor
