General Notes
The Press Cafe is a cute cafe in the east bay -- they have locations in Pleasanton and Livermore. I went to the one in Pleasanton and I enjoyed the environment -- it's definitely a nice plaza. Unfortunately the food didn't really stand up; both the food and drinks were quite disappointing.
Dishes Tasted
- ★☆☆☆ Nordic Toastini -- sourdough, goat cheese, arugula, smoked salmon, tomato, egg, onion sprouts, lemon. It's hard for something with smoked salmon to be too bad, but this was really not very good. The toast had a stale texture to it, and I'm not a fan of how thin it was. Goat cheese was simply too strong of a flavor against everything else. The egg just ... didn't really make sense in the context of this dish.
- ☆☆☆☆ Valley Fog -- watery and honestly pretty flavorless. not a good drink
- ★☆☆☆ Raspberry Blondie -- the overall flavor was nice (I liked the glaze, raspberry flavor, and lemon zest), but the texture left a lot to be desired. It was pretty drying and cake-like, not what I was hoping for from a blondie. I expect there to be a certain chewy texture from blondies.
