General Notes

A self-proclaimed gastropub in Greenwich Village with a very rustic feel to it. Unfortunately, the food is mediocre at best and really doesn't stand out. Perhaps the drinks are better. I would not recommend visiting this restaurant, especially if you don't plan to drink.

Negatives

> The service was really slow. It took an absurdly long time for the food to come out, especially considering that we had arrived at 9pm, during which the rush hour should have just passed.
> Don't come here if you're under 21. The whole restaurant, not just the bar itself, has a 21+ policy. Somehow, the other members of my party were able to convince them to let me in, promising that I wouldn't drink.
> This is not really a negative, but it does go to show how this restaurant fares in relation to others in Greenwich Village. The only reason why I came here is because I was tasked with finding a restaurant for a party of four at 7:30pm on a Friday night without any reservations. Needless to say nearly all places were extremely booked and had very limited availability. But this place had (surprisingly) no wait.

Dishes Tasted

  • ★★☆☆ Baby Lamb Chops -- Served with creamy mashed potatoes, broccoli rabe, and white wine rosemary sauce. The flavor of the sauce was excellent, the mashed potatoes were creamy, and the broccoli was nicely cooked. Unfortunately the lamb itself simply didn't taste that good - definitely overcooked (I ordered medium) and the fat cap was a bit cold, so it didn't have that savory bite to it.
  • ★☆☆☆ Charcuterie Board -- None of the cheeses/meats stood out. The menu said "three assorted meats" but I swear there were only two, which were very similar. The dish needed way more bread - probably three times as much. The cheeses were mediocre. I didn't really like how all of the items had a similar texture.
