General Notes

The best KBBQ restaurant that I've been to, to date. The quality of their meat is unparalleled, and the servers do a great job of preparing it. Each piece of meat was perfectly seared, perfectly cooked in the middle, and cut into bite sized pieces. The accompanying banchan / salads / pickled vegetables / accompaniments are quiet but subtly elevate the overall experience beautifully. Definitely a bit on the pricier side (it'll probably come out to around $100 per person), but absolutely worth a visit -- you won't be disappointed. After all, I came here twice in the span of a week -- I can't say that for almost any other restaurant at this price point. It is surprisingly not that difficult to get a reservation -- just call them in advance.

Positives

> They serve truffle salt! (alongside Himalayan sea salt) I personally love truffle, and I really enjoyed it with the meat.
> Funnily enough, the part of the meal I enjoyed the most was actually the pickled radish slices (yes, the meat was absolutely absurd). The idea is to take a slice of pickled radish, put some onion / scallion salad, a piece of meat (maybe some accompaniments like wasabi, salt), and consume it like a taco. It has a pleasant tartness but isn't overwhelming, and really elevates / balances the intense savoriness from the meat.
> For our first visit here, they actually gave us a complimentary bowl of mul naeng myun (thin cold noodles in cold broth), which was absolutely delightful. The broth, with the vinegar + horseradish, was SO REFRESHING.

Dishes Tasted

  • ★★★☆ Japchae -- glass noodles with wagyu bulgogi, vegetables. Not usually a huge fan of japchae, but this is probably the best I've had. The noodles had a delightful bouncy texture, and everything was really flavorful!
  • ★★☆☆ Nakji Pajeon -- green onion pancake with octopus. Pretty solid, but not particularly noteworthy. Could use a little more crisp on the exterior.
  • ★★☆☆ Wagyu Galbi Mandoo -- marinaded wagyu short rib dumpling (8 pc). Pretty good, but not super noteworthy in relation to everything else.
  • ★★★☆ US Wagyu Brisket -- 8oz, $31
  • ★★★☆ Bibim Naeng Myun -- Thin cold noodles tossed in spicy sauce. Love the flavor on this! Because we also got the cold noodle in broth as complimentary, we unfortunately couldn't really finish this though.
  • ★★★★ A5 Boneless Short Rib -- 6oz, $85
  • ★★★★ US Wagyu Rib Finger (marinaded) -- 8oz, $38
  • ★★★★ US Wagyu Boneless Short Rib -- 6oz, $45
  • ★★★★ A5 Ribeye -- 6oz, $96
  • ★★★★ Mul Naeng Myun -- Thin cold noodles in cold broth. SO REFRESHING. Definitely add vinegar and horseradish to your taste. It really goes so well with all the savoriness / fattiness from the meats.
  • ★★★★ Black Pork Belly -- 8oz, $30. This is the most ridiculously tender (non-braised) pork belly that I've ever had.
  • ★★★★ US Wagyu Chuck Flap -- 6oz $45
