General Notes
Taqueria Cazadores is a food truck stationed right at the corner of Mission / South Van Ness. They also have quite a bit of outdoor patio seating. This place happens to be about a block away from my apartment, and I went to give it a try one day. It was pretty solid -- not especially noteworthy, but pretty tasty. Given that it's right by my apartment, super convenient, and pretty affordable, I'll probably come back to try some of their other offerings.
Positives
> Their chips are pretty bomb; excellent texture and flavor and perfect amount of seasoning. One time I enjoyed some chips with the sauce that came with the tamales and it was amazing.
Dishes Tasted
- ★★★☆ Churros -- These were really well fried, delicious.
- ★★★☆ Pork Tamales -- Overall, great texture on the tamales. The pork itself was pretty dry; that could be improved. The sauce was a green salsa + cheese type of sauce, and it was delicious.
- ★★★☆ Super Burrito -- I don't remember it super well but overall a great burrito. I would usually get carnitas. Especially with the carnitas, be careful about which side you eat it from -- the oil can definitely leak out from the bottom, which would make for a ... messy experience.
- ★★★☆ Taquitos -- filled with ham and cheese, which is interesting. The side ingredients of lettuce, pico, crema, and guacamole are delightful. The sauce reminds me of something very specific ... but I can't remember exactly what.
- ★☆☆☆ Quesabirria -- The taco itself is overly salty. The overall flavor itself is pretty good. The texture leaves a little to be desired; it's a bit soggy and doesn't have that crispy textural contrast to it.
