General Notes

Tanglad unironically serves one of the best bowls of pho I've ever had. I've been to a lot of pho restaurants with great noodles or great broth, but it's pretty rare that I have beef that's better than mediocre. Usually, it's pretty dry and tough. Not the combination pho at Tanglad -- the beef was tender, flavorful, and leaned on the fatty side. The other components were great too, but the beef really stood out to me. Would come back again when I'm craving pho.

Positives

> The servers are super friendly. The day I went, they were all noticeably extremely busy -- they were running around, dealing with a clogged toilet, etc. Still, they were super friendly with radiant smiles with everyone.

Negatives

> The ventilation inside isn't the greatest, so you can tell that there are a lot of smoke / cooking particles floating around in the air. Maybe don't wear your nicest clothes.

Dishes Tasted

  • ★★★★ Combination Pho -- rare steak, well-done flank, brisket, soft tendon, beef meatballs noodle soup. Unironically one of the best bowls of pho I've had. The beef is incredible -- super tender, flavorful, and leans on the fatty side. The noodles have a nice texture too and the broth is delicious, but the beef is really what stands out (and the portion is substantial).
