General Notes

Excellent restaurant serving tsukemen and ramen. The food is solid and executed really well. As a result, the restaurant get REALLY busy -- I came here on a Monday evening by myself and didn't really have to wait, but expect long waits during peak hours. Apparently, they've also opened a new SF location in the Mission as of August 25, 2022. Definitely would recommend giving this place a try for their tsukemen!

Dishes Tasted

  • ★★★☆ Tokusei Tsukemen -- cold thick noodles, rich dipping soup made with pork, chicken, dried anchovy, dried bonito + pork chashu, menma, nori seaweed, green onion, Jidori egg, sous-vide Berkshire pork chashu. The dipping sauce is a touch too rich, and the noodles could be a touch chewier and less tough. But otherwise, the components are wonderful.
  • ★★★★ Takoyaki -- deep fried balls with octopus filling, egg tartar, and Okonomiyaki sauce. Some of the best takoyaki I've ever had. I wish there were a bit more octopus, but everything else about this is perfect. Beautifully fried, lovely texture inside. The okonomiyaki sauce has a lovely thick consistency, and the egg tartar adds a nice touch.
