General Notes

Tacorea is an interesting Korean-inspired taqueria. It's a taqueria at heart, serving up tacos, burritos, and various other goodies. The ingredients feature Korean influences like "Mama Lee's spicy pork", bulgogi, kimchi, etc. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised. Good quality food at a reasonable price point, along with lovely service. The combination works pretty well. Definitely worth a visit, either for just a snack (I came here and had just two tacos post-dinner) or for a full meal. I visited the one in North Beach; this is apparently their second location, they have another one near Union Square.

Positives

> Each order comes with free chips + salsa, though admittedly the chips are not great. They taste pretty similar to typical store-bought chips.

Negatives

> The seating is not particularly comfortable. There isn't any space to put your legs, so your legs are right up against the counter. There's some outdoor seating though.

Dishes Tasted

  • ★★★☆ Bulgogi Taco -- Really good -- what stood out is that the meat is really tender.
  • ★★☆☆ Carnitas Taco -- Your average carnitas taco; not particularly noteworthy.
