General Notes
Spoon and Pork markets itself as "modern Filipino food", which seems pretty accurate to me. All of the dishes definitely have a bit more of an upscale touch; definitely noticeable in the small things like the usage of cherry tomatoes. I went to the one in Sawtelle, but they also have a location in Silver Lake. Solid food at a reasonable price point, definitely worth a visit.
Dishes Tasted
- ★★☆☆ Pork Belly Adobo -- slow cooked, adobo glaze, fried egg, tomato, rice. The flavor and adobo glaze were really nice, but the meat itself was quite overcooked. It was tough and dry, not my favorite.
- ★★★★ Eggplant Ensalada -- fire roasted, salted egg crema, salsa, tomatoes, radish. Probably one of the best dishes I've ever had. Honestly, I'd devour just the parsley and the egg crema in this dish -- it's so good.
