General Notes
Spicy Joi opened recently, and they focus on Laotian food. Interestingly, they also offer banh mis. The food is really solid, generous portions, and at a super affordable price point. I'm excited to come back and try their other offerings, particularly their banh mis.
Dishes Tasted
- ★★☆☆ banh mi (pate) -- decent banh mi, not as much pate as I would hope (I think it was more of a combo banh mi)
- ★★★☆ Nam Khao -- crispy coconut rice, nam/cured pork, tossed in peanuts, scallions and lime. Served with herbs and lettuce. Not quite as good as the one I had at Funky Elephant, but still delicious and super flavorful. It was a bit frustrating that the lettuce was on the bottom instead of on the side.
