General Notes
An excellent Sichuan restaurant in Daly City. Solid food, reasonable prices, and the waitresses are awesome. Note that the majority of the clientele is typically non-Chinese, don't let that scare you away.
Dishes Tasted
- ★☆☆☆ 炝炒包心菜 -- decent flavor, but not quite my preferred flavor (too much soy sauce) or my preferred texture (too much corn starch)
- ★★★☆ 孜然排骨 -- really well fried, nice and tender, and good flavor. The onions are delicious too.
- ★★☆☆ 水煮鱼片 -- The texture of the fish is incredible; super tender and has a lovely mouth feel. The flavor leaves a little bit to be desired; the broth feels a touch underseasoned and the flavor doesn't permeate the fish well.
- ★★☆☆ Crispy Roast Duck -- Essentially a slightly upscale version of your typical deli roast duck. Pretty tasty, and a very large portion, but not quite as tender / juicy as I was hoping.
- ★★★☆ 麻婆豆腐 -- A little more numbing than I'm used to and not quite as saucy, but super satisfying to eat.
- ★★☆☆ 辣子鱼片 -- It's essentially the same as the equivalent chicken dish, except for fish. The fish is cooked very well, but I don't think this breading / dry cook works quite as well for fish.
- ★★★★ 口水鸡 -- This is delicious -- the flavors are on point.
- ★★★☆ 干煸豆角
- ★★★☆ 蒜蓉豆苗
