General Notes

Soft Swerve is a solid place in the Lower East Side for soft serve. The first thing you'll notice is that the flavor options have a strong Asian influence - the only options are ube, matcha, lychee, black sesame, and combinations of them. I'm generally not a big fan of soft serve, but I actually enjoyed this quite a lot. The texture, while not ice-cream level rich, was certainly on the richer side. The flavors were also executed quite well. I'd recommend giving this place a try if you're in the area.

Positives

> The portions are REALLY big. Honestly, I think a $5 cup is enough for two people, given that they fill the cup well above its rims. I had a $5 cup to myself and simply could not finish it.
> While fairly limited, the flavors are executed quite well - I tried a little bit of all four.

Dishes Tasted

  • ★★★☆ Ube & Lychee Swirl w/ Mochi -- The ube and the lychee are both executed really well. It seems like a weird combination in theory, but the two flavors actually work together really well. The mochi itself was a bit disappointing - something didn't quite feel right about it.
