General Notes

An excellent little Nordic cafe in the middle of East Village. It doesn't stand out from the street and I honestly had a bit of a hard time finding it at first, but everything about this shop is carefully thought out and executed with precision. Food is great, interior environment is nice. I would absolutely recommend giving this place a try for a light brunch!

Positives

> The atmosphere of the restaurant is amazing. Modern, sleek, and elegant interior design. It honestly feels like you're in the middle of IKEA.
> The food is excellent, and the prices are fairly reasonable. The plates are fairly small though, so this place is best as a light brunch or possibly breakfast.

Dishes Tasted

  • ★★★☆ S'møre -- One of their flagship dishes, and probably most popular. It quickly sells out, typically by around noon on the weekends. The marshmallow is toasted PERFECTLY. The dried raspberry bits add a nice acidic touch to the dish and really enhance the flavor. I only wish that the bread were ever so slightly less hard; otherwise, almost a perfect dish!
  • ★★☆☆ Avocado Side -- Decent, but would be nice to have a bit more sea salt on top.
  • ★★★★ Pickled Herring Smørrebrød -- The flavor of the pickled herring is absolutely amazing, and it pairs beautifully with the capers, dill, and creme fraiche. The bread has an interesting texture (it's rather hard due to a large number of seeds in the bread, not toasted). At first I didn't like it that much but the texture actually pairs well with the other ingredients.
