General Notes

Sizzling Lunch is an Asian-inspired restaurant specializing in rice dishes served on sizzling skillets where you cook your own meat, all in one. It's a unique concept and I certainly haven't seen this elsewhere before. Personally I'm not a huge fan (it's a little weird and gimmicky), though I do like the fact that you can customize the sauces that you add to your preference. My main complaint though, is that the dishes are simply way too greasy. I rarely complain about this, but it was definitely noticeable this time. Probably not a place that I'd proactively go to in the future.

Negatives

> The portions are not very substantial; if it weren't for the fact that I ate a very large lunch earlier in the day, I would have almost certainly still been hungry after finishing my meal.

Dishes Tasted

  • ★★☆☆ Cheese Fries -- on a sizzling hot plate, with cheese and chili mayo. Not particularly noteworthy, but I do like the chili mayo, which gives it a nice little touch of sweetness.
  • ★☆☆☆ Kurobata Pork Belly Pepper Rice -- topped with green onions, corn, garlic butter. My main complaint about this dish that it is _way_ too greasy. This is something that I rarely complain about but this was just too much. Otherwise, the quality of the pork was actually quite nice, and the flavor was decent after adding in the sauces. I did like the crispy rice bits at the bottom (do make sure you occasionally scrape it though; otherwise it might get too burnt)
