General Notes

I generally like Sichuan food, but the food at this restaurant was unfortunately terrible. Perhaps I went at an inopportune time (Tuesday dinner). But as a whole, the dishes seriously lacked the spicy kick that Sichuan food needs to be savory and delicious. I would recommend Mala over this place any day. One other thing that was oddly disturbing was the speed at which the dishes came out - it was so fast that it almost seemed premade...

Dishes Tasted

  • ★☆☆☆ 麻婆豆腐 -- Not actually too bad, but the dish felt oddly cold, almost as if it was pre-made. There was far too much bean paste flavor, and not enough raw spice.
  • ★☆☆☆ 夫妻肺片 -- Not too terrible, but the meat was very tough. The dish lacked spiciness and flavor as a whole.
  • ☆☆☆☆ 回锅肉 -- Extremely tough and way overcooked. I didn't know it was even possible to cook a tender and juicy cut like pork belly into something like this, but it happened. Like the other dishes, this also heavily lacks spiciness.
