General Notes

Chinese restaurant specializing in noodles, with seven locations across the Bay! I went to the one in Richmond, the one in Pacific East Mall. I think I got unlucky with what I ordered -- the lamb stone pot noodle dish was absolutely awful, but a lot of their other dishes looked promising. I would be willing to come back and try their other offerings (although to be honest, most of them are fairly generic-looking). I was drawn by the high ratings but it didn't really live up to the hype, unfortunately.

Dishes Tasted

  • ☆☆☆☆ 藤椒石锅羊肉 -- This dish sounds alright in theory, but turned out so badly in practice. There's an obscene amount of chili oil (I scooped out an entire small bowl worth of oil), which makes the soup inedible. There's way too much Sichuan peppercorn and it overwhelms all of the other flavors. I'm also just skeptical about using thin cuts of lamb in soup dishes like this; unsurprisingly it turned out dry and overcooked. The noodles are alright and a bit overcooked.
  • ★★★★ 生煎包 -- Delicious! There was a LOT of soup inside. Nice texture, and the flavor was REALLY nice -- a bit on the sweeter side (along with the vinegar), but it turned out really well.
