General Notes

The food here is awesome! This place is pretty fancy and certainly a bit pricey, but I think that the delicious food and nice environment justify the cost.

Positives

> Nice, friendly service. Our server was very kind in explaining the menu to us, funny, and responded positively to our dumb antics.
> Very convenient location - it's right by the MGH station on the red line.
> Solid food with a lot of great options. The starters here were excellent.

Negatives

> The menu can be misleading. We ordered the spaghetti nero with lobster, sea urchin butter & roasted kumato tomatoes. It shows up as $21 on the menu, but was actually $31 on our bill. Apparently, the prices listed for their spaghetti is for the "appetizer-size" and the "entree-size" is $10 on top.
> I'm not really a fan of their breadsticks. They are long, thin, and very dry. The pesto sauce that they serve it with is pretty good, however.

Dishes Tasted

  • ★★☆☆ Scampo Duck -- Served with a tangerine soufflĂ© and caramelized endive. The soufflĂ© and the sauces were heavenly. To be honest, the duck was a little disappointing - it was cold, underdone, and sliced too thinly in my opinion. Beautiful plating though.
  • ★★★★ Grilled Octopus -- Served with a saffron broken aioli and a cazuela of baked spanish fideos. Absolutely delicious - the octopus was tender and cooked perfectly, and the flavors melded amazingly.
  • ★★★☆ Spaghetti Nero -- Served with lobster, sea urchin butter, and roasted kumato tomatoes. The lobster was perhaps a hair overcooked, but the overall flavor of the dish was amazing. I absolutely loved the sea urchin butter.
