General Notes
As far as the restaurants I've been to go, Sala Thai is the best Thai restaurant in Fremont. They recently moved to a new, larger location. The interior is no longer quite as cozy and homey as it once was, but it's still decent. The food is solid all around. I would recommend giving this place a try.
Dishes Tasted
- ★★★☆ Crispy Eggplant with Seafood -- Battered and deep fried Chinese eggplant topped with stir fried mixed seafood, bell pepper, onion, and basil in chili garlic sauce. I'm generally not the biggest fan of eggplant, but aside from that every other component of the dish was excellent. I love the flavor of the sauce, and the seafood was prepared so well - the fried fish in particular was so incredibly tender.
- ★★★★ Crispy Fish with Sweet Garlic Sauce -- Amazing texture - crispy on the outside, incredibly tender on the inside. The sweet garlic sauce is also perfectly balanced and has a relatively thick consistency that I really like. An amazing dish!
- ★★★☆ Paradise Noodle -- Sala Thai version of Pad Thai with crab meat. I'm generally not the biggest fan of pad thai, but this was prepared quite well. I can't really taste the crab meat very much (so in that regards, might be better to just order the normal pad thai), but still delicious.
- ★★★☆ Yellow Curry -- Yellow curry paste in a coconut milk with onion and potato. Excellent flavor; I really like the prominent coconut milk flavor. I think I would like it might be better if it were slightly thicker, but otherwise nice texture as well.
- ★☆☆☆ Chicken Satay
