General Notes

One of my favorite restaurants in East Village. POST is a small, cozy restaurant serving elevated traditional American dishes. It's tucked away deep into Alphabet City and is truly a neighborhood gem. I enjoyed every part of my experience here so much that I decided to come back again (my second time was not quite as good as the first time, but still very good). The food is lovely (their biscuits and gravy are wonderful), drinks are nice (matcha ginger was so refreshing), friendly service.

Positives

> The biscuits are incredible. Soft and buttery on the inside, lightly crispy on the outside. Pairs beautifully with any and all of their biscuit dishes (especially the biscuits and gravy!)
> POST is fairly affordable; most brunch dishes will set you back around $15, including all of their famed biscuit dishes. Drinks are reasonably priced also. Dinner is a bit more expensive but still reasonable.
> A minor point, but the restaurant is cozy and the interior decor really does it for me.

Dishes Tasted

  • ★★★☆ Biscuits and Gravy -- House-made chicken sausage in white gravy, fried egg. My first time having biscuits and gravy, and it truly blew me away. Although you would expect a biscuits and gravy dish to be heavy and rich, it is actually very well balanced. The gravy is heavily peppered and a little bit of hot sauce brings the dish a nice kick and light acidity, which rounds the dish out beautifully. The biscuits are amazing, the gravy/chicken sausage are flavorful, and the fried egg adds a nice richness.
  • ★★★★ Matcha Iced Tea -- Matcha, ginger, and almond milk. Super refreshing and an amazing brunch drink on a warm summer day. The ginger is ground in-house and adds a slightly spicy kick and acidity to it. The matcha is high quality, and the almond milk brings everything together. I absolutely would recommend!
