General Notes

An odd ... Asian fusion restaurant in the heart of Jeju that specializes in fried chicken. They have a lot of different menu items that span the chef's interpretation of Chinese, Japanese, and Korean flavors: fried rice, fried dumplings, yakisoba, tteokbokki, jjampong, etc. Most of the dishes are mediocre but there were a few standouts. First, the chicken was FANTASTIC. It was fried beautifully and so savory. Each flavor combination hit pretty well. Second, the jjampong was incredible. It's not your typical jjampong -- it doesn't contain seafood, it's just pork broth, pork belly, and a crapton of bean sprouts. It's really good and comforting. Focus on just those dishes (and perhaps some rice) and you'll be happy camper. Avoid the two person sets as they contain a lot of the other random mediocre dishes that aren't as good.

Note: the ratings are likely inflated somewhat because the head chef speaks good English and asks visitors (at least, all the foreigners) to leave a review on Google. But it is genuinely quite good.

Positives

> The chef does actually speak good English, as he advertises on the sign outside. There won't be a communication barrier.

Dishes Tasted

  • ★★☆☆ boiled fish cake soup -- it's alright, nothing particularly noteworthy
  • ★★★★ meat jjamppong soup -- delicious; it's mostly pork broth, pork belly, and a ton of bean sprouts
  • ★★★☆ "Chinese" set menu -- chicken was great (strong cumin flavor), fried dumplings were meh, fried rice was ok. probably the best set menu b/c the starch wasn't awful
  • ★☆☆☆ "Korean" set menu -- chicken was good ("black chicken", good but not as good as the other ones), shrimp and fried balls were ok, the tteokbokki was absolutely disgusting
  • ★★☆☆ "Japanese" set menu -- chicken was delicious (katsu sauce, mayo), takoyaki was ok, yakisoba was pretty bad
