General Notes

Piacere is an Italian restaurant situated at the outskirts of Little Italy. To put it simply, the food was terrible, by far the worst gnocchi I've ever had. Maybe I caught them on a bad day, and it does seem like their specialty is more along the lines of pizza (though someone nearby ordered one, and it didn't look super appetizing either). Either way, I would definitely not recommend this place and will not be returning.

Negatives

> They only accept American Express or cash. Be prepared.
> Right after I ordered, I realized I didn't have enough cash, so I told the waiter that I'd head back to my apartment (literally a minute away) to grab some more. The waiter told me that they'd hold off on the pasta, since they make it fresh and don't want it to get cold. This definitely raised my anticipation, and I could not have expected this mushy abomination that came out of the kitchen afterwards.

Dishes Tasted

  • ☆☆☆☆ Gnocchi with Tomato and Basil -- The gnocchi tastes like completely mush. Way too soft with no resistance to it whatsoever. The sauce is bland and really just has a few leaves of basil thrown on top; it's not infused into the sauce at all. The gnocchi also has a weird slightly sweet aftertaste.
