General Notes
Solid Korean restaurant serving up classic Korean dishes. Some hits and some misses, but overall delicious. The two things that stood out to me were the spicy pomfret stew (so delicious, definitely give it a try), and the banchan, which were pretty unique (even including pancakes and ddukboki, neither of which I've seen elsewhere as banchan). Try to get an upstairs table if you can -- it doesn't feel quite as crowded or loud up there.
Dishes Tasted
- ★★★☆ (mini) mool naengmyeong -- Cold handmade noodle soup in beef dongchimi broth with lightly pickled radish & cucumber. Korean pear and boiled egg. Good balance of vinegar and mustard, I like the texture of the noodles.
- ★★☆☆ (mini) galbi -- I personally prefer my galbijjim to be a little more tender / saucy.
- ★★★★ byeong-uh jorim -- spicy braised pomfret with radish. This is one of the most delicious dishes. The pomfret is so tender + savory, and the flavor combination is amazing. Surprisingly large portion.
- ★☆☆☆ jokbal muchim -- cold pork feet salad. This was meh, I realized I don't actually enjoy pork feet all that much when it's cold. Kind of tastes like every korean salad.
- ★★★☆ sooyook -- slow cooked pork belly served with raw garlic and assorted condiments. Tender and savory, I enjoyed the condiments. Some lettuce wraps would have been nice.
