General Notes
Solid ramen restaurant in the heart of Wicker Park. The ramen is excellent, I'd probably skip the buns and just focus on the ramen though (maybe their other appetizers too).
Positives
> They actually have a few dessert options, which is pretty surprising for a ramen restaurant like this. I saw a party of people who seemed like they were going to a club come and just order a few desserts.
Dishes Tasted
- ★★★☆ Oiimen Classic -- spicy level 1, berkshire pork belly, ground pork, scallions, tree ear mushrooms, bamboo shoot, bean sprouts, soft boiled egg, chili garlic oil. The toppings are what stand out about this ramen, and they give quite a lot of it. You can choose either "thin" or "thick" noodles, but the thick noodles are really just ... regular ramen noodles. The ramen noodles are decent, the broth is pretty excellent. This one is definitely a bit on the heavier side, although there are also lighter options.
- ★☆☆☆ Duck Breast Bun -- duck breast, golden raisins, jalapeno chutney, daikon sprout. All of these buns have way too much meat and not enough bun. It's impossible to eat normally, and I would have preferred the same meat split over two buns. Otherwise, the flavor is just okay; a bit bland.
