General Notes

Odarijip is a restaurant that specializes in raw marinaded crab. Their soy sauce marinaded crab is possibly one of the most delicious things I've ever had, period. This was my first time having it, and I was blown away. Their marinade is flavorful but not overpowering (I had raw crab as banchan at several restaurants, and it was often served with a gochujang sauce that was way too overpowering). Perfect balance of salty, umami, and sweetness. Someone told me that raw marinaded crab is often referred to as "the rice thief" because it makes you eat so much rice; that's so true, I ate so much rice (the seaweed, sesame oil, and tobiko added an excellent touch to the rice) and I enjoyed every bit of it.

They do also have other items like pancakes, beef tartare, and grilled items. If you're a fan of raw marinaded crabs (which not everyone is; my group definitely had mixed opinions), I would focus on that. They offer various sizes depending on how much crab you want to consume. We got XLs and I was very, very happy about it. Came out to around $40-50/pp.

Dishes Tasted

  • ★★★★ Soy Sauce Marinaded Crabs -- One of the most delicious dishes I've ever had. The yellow bits in the body were unreal.
  • ★★★☆ Beef Tartare -- I'm usually not a big fan of beef tartare, but this was actually pretty good. I like that they added a bit of sugar / soy sauce to the marinade, which gave it a nicec flavor.
