General Notes

Excellent Korean restaurant serving up refined tastes on Korean classics. Excellent food, great ambiance, and amazing service. The food looks expensive, but they offer a discount through InKind and it's a lot cheaper than you might think. I see on Google reviews that they have sundae (which wasn't on the menu when I went, unfortunately), and they also have a duck bulgogi as part of their fixed prix menu, definitely would love to try those.

Positives

> If you use the InKind reward app, you can get some pretty incredible discounts. I came here with a party of 6 and ordered plenty of food, and it ended up being just $50 pp after tip and tax.
> Their kimchi is surprisingly incredible, I definitely had a lot of it.
> I like that they have buckwheat tea as an option for a drink, I don't see it often but it's nice to have something non-caffeinated / non-alcoholic with dinner.

Dishes Tasted

  • ★★★★ Mushroom Sotbap -- golden queen rice, mushroom, foie gras, beef broth. Sumptuous and intensely savory, it's delicious, and I'm not even a big fan of mushroom. It's basically all the ingredients mixed together.
  • ★★★★ Galbi-Jim -- soy braised prime beef, pyogo mushroom. Incredibly delicious, super tender + flavorful, definitely more delicate + refined than daeho. Highly recommend, have this with a bowl of (complimentary) rice
  • ★★★☆ Tteokgalbi -- prime beef short rib, rice cake. This name is a little misleading; it's actually more like a beef patty topped with a couple of pieces of "toasted" rice cakes. That being said, the beef was surprisingly incredible (super tender + juicy + flavorful). The rice cake on top really felt more just like a garnish and honestly a bit out of place
  • ★★☆☆ Assorted Korean Pancakes -- oyster, skate, sesame leaf, zucchini, yam. Overall, prepared quite well but personally not my favorite dish.
  • ★★★☆ Yukhoe -- beef tartare, Korean pear, egg yolk. Very tasty
  • ★★☆☆ Hoe Muchim + Kim -- seasonal fish, gochujang, soybean powder. Meant to be eaten hand roll style, with salmon sashimi. I'm not a huge fan of this general preparation because it just makes the fish taste all the same, but overall it was prepared quite well
  • ★★★☆ Spicy Fried Chicken -- with gochujang sauce. Fried well, very crispy and juicy. Breading was a little bit on the thicker side, but overall delicious fried chicken.
