Mighty Quinn's Barbeque is a New York chain BBQ restaurant, with several locations across the city. On Google Maps, it's listed as a "hip" BBQ joint; I would say that's a pretty good euphemism for a shitty BBQ restaurant. There are so many fundamental issues with the restaurant, from the lackluster BBQ sauce, a menu that makes no sense whatsoever, and food sitting out on a counter. Not a place I would recommend by any means.
> I am not a fan of the barbeque sauce. The flavor is fine, but the consistency is off - it is too watery and doesn't complement the meats well, texturally.
> The menu makes absolutely no sense. I think that many people (like myself) would like to order something like two single servings of meat and a couple of sides. But they don't have a plate option like this ... instead they offer rice bowls. I don't understand why anyone who goes to a BBQ restaurant would want a rice bowl. Don't get me wrong - it's reasonably priced and quite a lot of food, but it's just not what I, or anyone else is really looking for. And if you want to create your own BBQ plate, something like brisket, pulled pork, and two sides, it is quite expensive to create that yourself.
> The sides options are really strange, and certainly not done very well (except the baked beans). I would have liked to have some cornbread or bread to go along with my meats, but they don't have that. Instead, they have kale salad, greek salad, and sweet potato casserole.
> This restaurant is counter-serve. Normally this isn't much of a problem, but it means that all the sides and meats are literally sitting out on the counter. Most of them end up cold and unappetizing. The meats lose their savory flair.
