General Notes

Google Maps' description of Meadhall is pretty accurate: "Sleek, spacious gastropub with an ample craft beer & mead selection, plus American bar eats". The food is about average and more or less what you would expect from an establishment like this. I'm generally not the biggest fan of beer, but I was quite pleasantly surprised at the beer I ended up ordering (House Lager). It was a bit much in terms of volume, but it was quite refreshing. A solid option as long as you focus more on the beers instead of the food. I do want to come back here at some point to try their mead, what the name of the restaurant comes from.

Positives

> After hearing about my nonexistent experience with beer, my server was gracious enough to offer me a mini-tasting of their House Lager and one of their New England IPAs. The IPA had a pretty interesting combination of flavors (the citrus definitely stood out), and I was definitely considering getting it, but that day I was in the mood for something lighter and easy to drink. The House Lager definitely fit the bill.
> Their selection is HUGE. Just look at their menu online; there are probably close to 100 options available. It really makes me wonder where the heck all those kegs that contain the beer are stored, considering they're basically all on tap in the middle bar island.
> Very spacious location, nice environment, not too loud. A nice place to meet up with a friend.

Dishes Tasted

  • ★★☆☆ Fish & Frites -- Northern Atlantic Cod, Hand Cut Belgian Frites, House Slaw, Remoulade. The fish was nicely fried and tasted great, but the fries were a bit too thin and slightly soggy for my taste. Both the house slaw and the remoulade could benefit from significantly more acidity.
