Yanagawa is famous for its "steamed eel". I was confused by this when I saw it on the menu; it is in fact steamed and then grilled, not just steamed (purely steamed eel sounds not nearly as appetizing). This is to differentiate it from the standard grilled unagi, which you're probably more familiar with. This restaurant was right at the end of the Yanagawa boat tour, so super convenient location (this is where most of the restaurants are clustered). The steamed eel was delicious -- excellent texture, possibly from the cooking process (never had this with purely grilled eel before).
