Mama's on Washington Square serves up brunch classics like omelettes and benedicts right by Washington Square, as the name suggests. The food is solid and the atmosphere is nice; there's indoor/outdoor dining as well as takeout (you could eat at Washington Square Park). Menu options are relatively standard brunch items, though they do also have specials and an interesting "French Toast Sampler" of four different flavors of French toast, which I really want to try. They can get pretty busy; expect ~30 minute waits during peak hours.

  • ★★★☆ Lox and Bagel Platter -- Smoked salmon, toasted bagel with cream cheese, onion, capers, tomatoes, cucumbers. The bagel was toasted well, the lox was delightful, and the ingredients were well-balanced for a lovely dish.
