General Notes

Loquat is an interesting bakery in the heart of Hayes Valley. They have a wide variety of different pastries, including some that I've never seen before. If I had to guess, I think the bakery has Jewish influences. Solid pastries, nice vibes. A good option for a bakery if you're looking to try something new.

Dishes Tasted

  • ★★★☆ Boureka Sando -- eggplant, feta, egg, pine nuts, tomato, amba, tahini, lemon juice. The boureka is flaky, buttery, and an excellent vessel for the sandwich. The combination of ingredients works beautifully; I love the tartness that the amba and lemon juice offers.
  • ★☆☆☆ Latte -- Honestly pretty flavorless, kind of just tasted like foamed milk. You'll definitely want to add some more sweetening in here.
