General Notes

Lele Cake opened somewhat recently, and it's one of the best dessert shops / cafes that I've been to. I first heard of this place on Tik Tok; one of my friends sent me a video that raved about this place and it did not disappoint. Food is excellent; they have a lot of unique offerings and execute everything to perfection. Nice, cozy vibes (although it can get pretty busy, especially during peak hours). Their gruyere pancakes with sun dried tomatoes are to die for. It's pretty far south, but I'm excited to try some of their other offerings!

Dishes Tasted

  • ★★★☆ Prosciutto Toast -- prosciutto, pears, smoked goat cheese, honey, balsamic, toast. Good quality prosciutto, solid combination, just wish the toast were a little more ... toast-like. It was a little soggy at places.
  • ★★☆☆ Matcha Basque Cheesecake
  • ★★☆☆ Berry Tart
  • ★★★★ Gruyere Waffles, Sundried Tomatoes, Egg -- Gruyere waffles with sundried tomatoes and soft egg, also served with what I think is whipped creme fraiche. This dish is INCREDIBLE. The waffles don't have your typical waffle texture, but are delightfully chewy with just the right amount of crispiness, probably thanks to the gruyere. The tomatoes are really the star of the show and bring everything together. The only thing I would wish for is the egg to be slightly softer, but that's a minor nit at worst.
  • ★★☆☆ Ube Latte -- This is an absolutely beautiful drink, with the shade of purple. The flavor leaves a little to be desired; it's a little bland for me. I was surprised that it doesn't actually come with coffee in it, by default.
  • ★★★★ Canele -- This was quite possibly the best canele I've ever had. It had a delightfully crisp, caramelized exterior (but not hard), and a rich custardy interior.
