General Notes

LAFS (love at first sight, or Rapseu on Naver) is a quintessential example of an "instagram-friendly" restaurant. It's super aesthetic inside, especially with a super clear ocean view (especially if you sit on the second floor). It's gorgeous and the food doesn't disappoint. We had a server named Jack who spoke decent English and was super friendly; he definitely improved the experience for us! He cooked all the pork for us. We had a reservation for 12, split into 6 and 6. For our table of 6 we ordered the 4-person pork kbbq set and the 2-person galbijjim set. We got to experience a lot of different dishes, including black pepper shrimp, shrimp / vegetable soup, various banchan, and complimentary ice cream. IIRC there are a few different options that you can choose for flavors. Only thing to note is that it's pretty out of the way, not very accessible by transit. But it's a great place to go for an oceanside walk afterwards! Note that it's also right by the Haeundae Blue Line Park Gudeokpo train.

Dishes Tasted

  • ★★★★ the pork itself -- great quality pork, cooked perfectly, and quite flavorful. nice dipping sauces
  • ★★★☆ shrimp / vegetable soup -- surprisingly good soup; refreshing and quite spicy
  • ★★★☆ black pepper shrimp -- this dish was absolutely delicious. Great flavor, shrimp fried really well.
  • ★★☆☆ galbijjim -- decent, but like the other galbijjim restaurant that I went to in Seoul, quite different from daeho. Not much beef, more watery, and a lot of glass noodles.
