General Notes
This tiny French cafe is truly a gem in New York's Financial District. The food and atmosphere are amazing - a great spot for a casual (small group) date. I would definitely recommend giving this place a try if you're in the area!
Dishes Tasted
- ★★★☆ Canele -- Good level of sweetness, with an awesome contrast in texture between the crisp exterior and custardy interior. I only wish it were served a bit warmer.
- ★★★★ Croque Forestier -- Paris mushrooms, brie, truffle bechamel, thyme. This sandwich was absolutely delicious - the mushrooms weren't overpowering and were a great complement to the soft, creamy brie. I got a fried egg with it, which I think was a great complement. Rich, creamy, and delicious!
- ★★☆☆ Crab Salad Brioche -- Served with avocado, celery, chives, iceberg lettuce, lime, and old bay seasoning. All in all the dish was excellent. My only complaint is that the bread was a bit dry (perhaps brioche isn't the right bread for this).
