General Notes

Tiny rustic Sardinian restaurant at the southern edge of Noe Valley. The food has a lot of seafood influences, which makes sense given that Sardinia is an island in Italy. It's about what you might expect from a restaurant that calls itself "rustic". The vibes are in fact rustic, but not in a particularly good way. The food is decent but not particularly noteworthy, especially given the price. It's an interesting experience since you won't typically see this much seafood on an Italian restaurant's menu, but probably not a place that I'd return to.

Dishes Tasted

  • ★★☆☆ Fregola Sarda -- fregola seafood citrus zest squid ink. Decent flavor, like the lemony feel, not particularly noteworthy though
  • ★★☆☆ Sea Urchin Fettucini -- pasta longa cun arrizonis (artisanal fettucini sea urchin tomato anchovy cured tuna heart). The tomato flavor is pretty strong and I can't taste the sea urchin much. I like the flavor that the cured tuna heart adds to it though. The fettucini was a touch overcooked formy taste.
  • ★★☆☆ Prosciutto -- this was a special, the waiter hyped it up, it was in fact pretty good prosciutto
  • ★★☆☆ Sardinian Flatbread -- pani guttiau (traditional Sardinian flat bread baked with EVOO and pecorino). Tastes great, but it's incredibly thin and has a little too little substance
