General Notes
A delightful, homey Filipino restaurant in South San Francisco. Each dish is HUGE, so definitely come here with a group and not by yourself; I've been here twice now, ordered the kare kare and mixed adobo, and each was probably enough for two people. These portion sizes definitely seem like they're designed for you to have leftovers. The food is solid and super affordable, would recommend giving it a try!
Dishes Tasted
- ★★★☆ Adobo (chicken + pork) -- chicken + pork simmered in garlic, soy sauce, and vinegar. Lovely flavor, and the cooking liquid has a nice consistency. Generally cooked pretty well, though some pieces are definitely a bit dry. Be warned -- this dish is HUGE.
- ★★★☆ Kare Kare -- beef oxtail, tripe, and vegetables in peanut sauce served with shrimp paste on the side. The flavor and consistency of the sauce is excellent; the oxtails are relatively tender (but could maybe use a touch more cook). I surprisingly liked the tripe, which was nice and tender! I think they prepare it in advance; it came out really quickly
