General Notes
Excellent restaurant in Chinatown specializing in 江西 food. All the dishes hit the spot and were prepared really well.
Dishes Tasted
- ★★★☆ steamed pork ribs with rice powder -- not actually ribs (it's pork belly), but very delicious. This is apparently a specialty of 江西. Very tender and flavorful. Although I personally would prefer rice powder that has a little less allspice, is a little less sweet, and larger.
- ★★★☆ beef fried rice noodles -- the flavor is incredible, it's clearly fried with really high heat. Definitely somewhat spicy
- ★★★☆ sweet potato leaves -- not my favorite vegetable, but stir-fried really really well
- ★★★☆ preserved egg pork soup -- i was not expecting to enjoy this but it was surprisingly delicious. The preserved egg melts into the soup and adds a nice thick richness, the flavor is not as pronounced
- ★★★☆ morel black chicken soup -- delicious, the flavor combination is nice even though I'm not a big fan of mushrooms.
