General Notes

Javier's is what it is because of the vibe. It's not often that you see upscale Mexican restaurants like this. Overall, the food is good but not particularly outstanding. The service is okay, a little bit slow. It's a decent choice for something more bougie but I wouldn't go out of my way to go to this place.

Negatives

> One thing I didn't like was that the tables felt way too tall for how high the seats were; it was kind of uncomfortable.

Dishes Tasted

  • ★★☆☆ filete ladrillo -- 16oz bone-in ribeye cut, pasilla asado, refritos. The potatoes and the stuffed pepper were both really good. The refried beans were pretty awful; way too thick. The ribeye was pretty solid.
  • ★★★☆ trio de enchiladas del mar -- shrimp, dungeoness crab, maine lobster. The enchiladas are good, you can definitely taste the seafood flavor, and the sauces pair nicely.
  • ☆☆☆☆ ceviche pescado -- pretty flavorless and uninteresting, too much other components that doesn't really pair with the fish well
