General Notes
Jack's Wife Freda is a Mediterranean restaurant with several locations across Manhattan, although they are probably better known for their brunch. I came here for dinner on a Monday, and even then it was mostly full and quite busy; needless to say expect that this place will be busy. Upon my server's recommendation, I ordered the Peri-Peri Chicken, which was really good but had some unfortunate flaws. That being said, I had a good experience here and would probably return, particularly for their brunch.
Dishes Tasted
- ★★☆☆ Peri-Peri Chicken -- Served with a cucumber and tomato salad and green hot sauce. My server recommended this as their most popular dish, and it did not disappoint. Well seasoned, and the peri-peri spices are delicious. The textures were ... half-incredible - I loved the juicy and crispy skin, and the thigh side of the piece of chicken was incredibly tender and juicy. Unfortunately, the breast side was overcooked and dry. The hot sauce is subtle but rounds out the chicken with a bit of acidity.
