General Notes
Solid Japanese food in a casual environment at a reasonable price point. It's marketed as Japanese tapas, which is pretty accurate. It's great that you can try a whole bunch of smaller dishes. They do also have some more substantial options to round out the meal, like their rice and noodle dishes.
Dishes Tasted
- ★★☆☆ California Spicy Roll -- solid roll, nice flavor, very reasonable at $12
- ★★★★ Renkon Chips -- thinly sliced lotus root chips! It's basically potato chips but using lotus roots instead. It tastes incredible, I do want to try making this myself sometime.
- ★★★★ Mentaiko Carbonara -- this stuff tastes absolutely incredible, it's pretty similar to the mentaiko cream udon that I had at udon mugizo
- ★☆☆☆ lamb skewer -- decent lamb but it was definitely underseasoned
- ★★☆☆ chicken & scallion -- the chicken was really tender! served with some kind of citrus
- ★★☆☆ Quail Eggs -- solid but nothing particularly noteworthy, the smoky flavor didn't really add much for it imo
