Impression of Lanzhou is a relatively new Chinese restaurant that opened up in the Ranch 99 plaza in Concord, way at the end of the plaza. I came here one night after DDR and was very satisfied. The food is great and the prices are very reasonable. I'm definitely biased because I love northwestern Chinese food; this is definitely a place that I will be returning to try their other offerings.

• ★★★★ 大盘鸡 -- One of the best 大盘鸡 I've ever had. Intensely flavorful, tender chicken, excellent chewy texture on the thick noodles, very generous portion. Interestingly, the highlight of the dish was the potatoes -- they were cooked perfectly and so flavorful.
• ★★★★ 羊肉汤面 -- The soup is INCREDIBLE. This is my first time seeing lamb cut up into small pieces like this, and it actually works surprisingly well.
• ★★★★ 凉皮 -- excellent texture, well balanced between the gluten, noodles, bean sprouts, etc. Nice flavor, it's relatively heavy on the vinegar just the way I like it.
• ★★★★ 羊杂碎 -- This was INCREDIBLE. I'm not sure what exactly it is about their lamb soups, but they're relatively milky. It's not quite as strong as most 羊杂碎 I've had in the past, and it just tastes like a really good lamb soup. Would definitely recommend trying it.
• ★★☆☆ Spicy Cold Cut Beef -- i'm not a big fan of this dish, personally.
• ★★★☆ Cucumber in Garlic Sauce
• ★★★★ 土豆丝 -- some of the best shredded potato salad I've had in a long time; super thin slices, delightfully tart + savory flavor.
• ★★☆☆ 肉夹馍 -- Not quite as juicy / savory as I was hoping for, but the flatbread was very solid. I might ask for no bell pepper in the future.
• ★★☆☆ 油泼面 -- The noodles have an INCREDIBLE texture, it was definitely the highlight of the dish. The flavor of the dish itself is alright but a little bit lacking; it's a little too vinegary, without enough soy sauce or savoriness.
