The more I visit Carmel, the more I come to realize that Carmel restaurants are a bit of a scam. Your money is definitely going towards the experience and ambiance, much more so that the food. For what it's worth, the atmosphere of the restaurant is delightful (definitely gives off great rustic vibes), but the food leaves a bit to be desired.

• ★★☆☆ Paccheri al Ragu Napoletano -- short rib, pork rib, sausage, slow cooke tomato sauce, parmesan, pecorino, basil. It's decent, but not particularly noteworthy. I'm not a fan of the paccheri shape, which is way too large. The ragu is ok but somewhat bland.
• ★★★☆ Gnocchi Ripieni -- potato dumpling filled with italian cheese, cream, parmigiano reggiano, nutmeg, black truffle, parsley. Pretty good dish, the cheese sauce had an excellent flavor and the broiled top was good.
• ★☆☆☆ Polipo e Patate -- octopus, cherry tomato, rosemary, garlic, olive oil potato puree. The octopus was decent, but the potato puree was ... so bad. It was really thick / heavy and tasted like baby food.
