General Notes

Excellent Chinese restaurant specializing in all things Shanghainese food. For me, their flagship dish is the XLB -- definitely some of the best I've had. I'd love to try some of their other offerings as well. Note that this place is quite popular and can be quite busy (it's also not a huge space), so expect a wait during peak hours.

Dishes Tasted

  • ★★☆☆ 桂花糖藕 -- sweet lotus roots with sticky rice. Cooked pretty well, overall not my favorite dish though.
Diced Bean Curd with Ma Lan" on the menu. I don't like this dish at all, not a big fan of either to be honest.
Great texture, subtly sweet, delicious!
  • ★★★☆ 白斩鸡 -- This is done really well. The skin is delightfully bouncy. The sauce mixture is excellent -- a hybrid between ginger + saucy, and pairs excellently. It's a little overcooked / tough though.
A touch underseasoned for my taste, but overall stir-fried really well.
A bit too sweet for my taste, but overall fried pretty well, with a lot of juice.
Some of the best XLB that I've had. The filling is soft, there's tons of delicious soup, it has good structural integrity, and the vinegar pairs well.
