General Notes

Excellent Vietnamese restaurant in East San Jose. They're supposedly well known for their bun bo hue, which is good but not particularly noteworthy. I think their appetizers are really interesting and tasty. There's a whole bunch of small plates that I'd definitely recommend you try. I would love to come back and try just a bunch of appetizers next time I come here. It was interesting to several groups who just ordered 3 orders of banh beo per person, it's definitely one of their specialties. Very reasonably priced, very popular.

Dishes Tasted

  • ★★★☆ banh ram it -- a steamed dumpling set over a crispy one with shrimp and pork. This is delicious, love the texture contrast + savoriness
  • ☆☆☆☆ nem chua hue -- hue sour fermented pork sausage. Not a fan of this one
  • ★★★☆ banh beo -- soft rice cakes topped with ground shrimp. First time having this and this is one of their specialties. Definitely try this
  • ★★☆☆ bun bo hue -- Hue's spicy noodle soup (beef shank, tendon, Hue ham, pork & blood cubes). Soup is nice, the meats are a mixed bag, some are way overcooked, others are nice.
