General Notes

Cantonese banquet-style restaurant right by the bay, by the Emeryville marina. The views from here are absolutely gorgeous, and the pre or post meal walk around the marina park is so nice. The other thing that stands out about this place is that their menu is REALLY expansive; if there's a dim-sum item that you're looking for, there's a good chance that they have it. Otherwise, the food itself is decent but not particularly noteworthy. In the future I think I'd rather come here for weekend dim-sum than dinner. From what I can tell, it looks like they also have a lot of capacity to host larger banquet-style gatherings. I wouldn't be surprised if they also hosted wedding ceremonies here. Wedding ceremony then yacht party afterwards?

Dishes Tasted

  • ★★★☆ Almond with egg white puree -- This is delicious, perfect consistency (not watery, a little thick), excellent flavor that's not too heavy. Great as a dessert imo.
  • ★★☆☆ Water Chestnut Cake -- Pretty yummy, I'm not a huge fan of the texture of water chestnut but I love the slightly custardy flavor that's slightly caramelized on the outside.
  • ★★★☆ Crispy Fried Shrimp Puffs
  • ★★★☆ Mentaiko Fried Rice -- with seafood and egg white. This was delicious; excellent flavor, the addition of shrimp and scallops adds a nice touch.
  • ★★☆☆ 蒜蓉芥菜 -- flavor is excellent, slightly overcooked, the cut of 芥菜 they used was pretty strange (they used the stem, which made it quite challenging to actually eat)
  • ☆☆☆☆ Crispy Fried Squab -- first time having squab, I did not enjoy it. It was not crispy as advertised, and honestly just really dry. The flavor was decent, it tasted similar to duck. I'd take duck any day over this though.
